Samsung has unveiled new versions of its ultra-short-throw projectors, with the Premiere 8K and Premiere 5 being introduced as successors to last year’s models, the Premiere LSP7T and LSP9T. These latest additions come with a groundbreaking feature called LightWarp, which turns any object or surface into an interactive display.

The Premiere 8K marks Samsung’s top-of-the-line projector. True to its name, it supports 8K resolution and has the ability to upscale 4K content to 8K. The device is equipped with a robust 100W sound 8.2.2-channel sound system with Dolby Atmos and sound-on-screen support. This latter technique creates an immersive experience where the sound appears to emanate directly from the projected screen.

One of the most impressive features of the Premiere 8K is its ability to project a 150-inch image from a distance of just 12 inches. It also includes a Wireless One Connect box, which enables easy connectivity to streaming devices. The box and projector should be within 10 meters of each other for best performance.

The Premiere 5, although small, is also quite powerful. Samsung calls it the world’s most compact triple-laser ultra-short-throw projector. Its dimensions, height 20 cm, width 14 cm and the same depth, combined with a weight of only 1.67 kg, make it highly portable. This device can display a 100-inch screen from a distance of 17 inches.

LightWarp adds an innovative layer of interactivity. Users can project and interact with various widgets such as weather, clock and news on their walls. This feature extends to tabletop games, providing a unique gaming experience.

Although Samsung has not yet revealed the pricing and availability details of these projectors, interested customers can sign up for updates on Samsung’s 2024 TV and audio lineup. Those who sign up can get $100 off their purchase and have a chance to win a Freestyle 2nd Generation with Gaming Hub Portable Projector.
