Google is working on its latest chipset, the Tensor G4, and it looks like we’ve got our first glimpse of it. A device from Google, known as Tokay, was recently spotted performing the Geekbench 5 test. Yes, this is Geekbench 5, not the new version 6, and it is believed to be powered by the Tensor G4 chipset.

This Google device comes with 8GB RAM and runs on Android 14. However, the scores it achieved in the Geekbench tests for both single and multi-core performance were not as expected. The processor inside is an eight-core model. It has four cores clocked at 1.95GHz, the other four clocked at 2.6GHz, and one core clocked at 3.1GHz. Reports also suggest that the device uses the Mali G715 for graphics processing.

There is speculation that it could be part of the Google Pixel 9 series. However, the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, which are codenamed Komodo and Caiman respectively, do not match the Tokay codename.

It is important to remain alert to this information at this time and take it seriously. Whether this is a glimpse of a future Google Pixel device or something else entirely, only time will tell.
