Recently, Nothing has released Nothing OS 2.5.1 Open Beta 2 update for phone(1) users along with Open Beta 1 and Closed Beta 1 updates. The update has been shared via OTA to OBT 1 and selected CBT 1 users officially. The CBT 1 update was leaked and many people sideloaded it using the files; Thus now they have not been given the OTA update of Open Beta 2.
Steps to Update from CBT Update to OBT 2.
All CBT users make sure you are on spacewar-u2.5-231206-153 build ID and Closed Beta 1 update.
- Install build specwars-u2.5-231212-1147, the file size is 42.4 MB, and it is a CBT hotfix update. If you are already on this build number, go to step-3
- Install build spacewars-u2.5-231220-0836, the file size is 59.5 MB, and it is Open Beta 1 update. If you are already on this build, skip to step-4.
- Install build Spacewar-U2.5-240106-2238, the file size is 47.8 MB, and it is Open Beta 2 update.
How to Update using the build file
Method-1
- Go to the drive link for the build you need by tapping on the build number. mentioned above and download it.
- Go to Settings > System > Update to Beta.
- Tap “Check for New Version” and then ‘Download Package’.
- Tap ‘Confirm’ and your phone will restart and update.
- Keep repeating the same process until you reach the latest Open Beta 2 update.
If you are facing any issues during the update then check your build and update to the next build or try restarting your device and following the same steps again.
Method-2
- Go to the drive link for the build you need by tapping on the build number. mentioned above and download it.
- Go to Files > Internal Storage > Downloads > Create File
3. Tap on the three dots to the right of the build file and select Move and then go to ‘Internal Storage’.
4. Tap ‘Add New Folder’ and create a new folder named ‘OTA’ and then tap ‘Move to Folder’.
5. Open the dialer app and dial *#*#682#*#*. You will be directed to the Nothing Offline OTA Update page, below you will see the update, if not then click on ‘Reload’, then tap on ‘Apply OTA directly from selection’.
6. Click ‘OK’ in the Apply updates directly from selection dialog box. Leave your phone aside during the process and do not do anything on it. After completion you will get a dialog box for update OTA success, click ‘Confirm’.
7. As soon as you tap on ‘Confirm’ your device will reboot and your device will be updated to the build version of the build file. Keep repeating the same process until you reach the latest Open Beta 2 update.
