Every year in June, Apple used to announce its new iOS version at WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference). This year i.e. in 2024, Apple will introduce iOS 18. iOS 18 is rumored to come with ChatGPT-inspired generative AI features for Siri, RCS support in Messages app, Shortcuts, Apple Music, Health, Spotlight, Pages, Keynote, Numbers. even more.
Tim Cook (Apple’s CEO) has teased several times that the company is working on Generative AI. Its details will be shared later this year. Generative AI became famous in 2022 when OpenAI launched ChatGPT. Currently the company is working on Sora AI, through which you can generate video from text. It’s will open to the public later this year.
IOS 18 Design Changes
Mark Gurman, a reporter for Bloomberg, mentioned in his February edition newsletter that Apple was working to update its iOS design earlier this year. So far, Gurman has not revealed what specific changes are planned for iOS. However, he noted that Apple’s senior management described iOS 18 as ambitious and compelling. Rumors also suggest that iOS 18 will feature some VisionOS-inspired design elements.
