Meta on Thursday released “Imagine with Meta AI”, its standalone AI (artificial intelligence) image generator trained on a massive dataset of 1.1 billion publicly visible photos from the websites Facebook and Instagram.

Powered by the company’s Image Foundation model, Emu, the website allows users to generate unique images based on text prompts. Previously, this AI technology was limited only to messaging and social networking apps like Instagram. Now, the tool will be available on its own dedicated website, imagine.meta.com.

“We love hearing from people about how they use Imagine, the Meta AI text-to-image feature, to create fun and creative content in chat. Today, we’re expanding the reach of imagination beyond chat,” Meta said in its Newsroom post announcing the website and other new AI features.

“While your messaging experience is designed for more fun and back-to-back conversations, you can now also create free images on the web.”

The company also announced that it’s testing more than 20 new ways that generative AI can improve your experiences on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp, including search, social discovery, advertising, business messaging, and more. Some are included.

This Meta AI tool creates four images for each message, all of which will have a visible watermark in the lower left corner indicating that they were created with Meta AI.

Additionally, Meta says it will soon begin testing an invisible watermarking system that is “flexible for common image manipulations such as cropping, color changes (brightness, contrast, etc.), screen shots and more” to increase transparency and traceability. ” Is.
