Nothing has finally confirmed that the Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta update based on Android 14 will be released for phone (1) users before the end of 2023. They have also released the stable version of Nothing OS 2.5 for phone (2) users today.

A few days ago, Nothing released a closed beta update for selected Phone (1) users, which brings UI changes, new features, and various improvements to the Phone (1). The changelog and update file for the closed beta update have been leaked online.
Recently, Nothing has also released a hotfix update for Phone(1) users running the closed beta update. Screenshots were leaked by some testers, which shows that the update brings some improvements to the battery usage curve and excessive battery drain. The update also fixes some network connectivity and security-related bugs.
Now that Nothing has confirmed that the phone (1) will get the open beta update by the end of 2023, we can expect the stable update to be released by the first half of January 2024. The closed beta update is actively under development, and improvements are made following changes and reviews from selected users; Thus we can expect the open beta update to be released by next weekend.
