Last week, the stable Nothing OS 2.5.1 based on Android 14 was released to all Nothing phone users (2). The update brought a number of new features and improvements to the device’s performance as well as customization, glyph interface, gestures, new widgets, and the overall user interface.

However, after the update, several users reported that music visualization, a feature that syncs the Glyph Lite with music played on the device, is not working properly. There was a bug that caused glyph lights to get stuck and blurry during visualization.

Nothing OS 2.5.1A Hotfix Update for Phone (2)

Today, Nothing released a hot update for all Phone(2) users on Nothing OS 2.5.1. This update fixes some known bugs, including a music visualization bug. The updated version is 2.5.1A and the update size is 50.73 MB.

How to update phone (2) to Nothing OS 2.5.1A

  1. Go to Settings > System > System updates > Download and install.

Bug fixes with the update

1. Improved glyph light playback effect when syncing with device audio – This fixes an issue with music visualization, prior to this update the glyph lights were not bright enough and were also not syncing properly with device audio. The center glyph was stuck on a similar pattern during visualization. After the update music visualization is working properly, audio sync is now better and glyph lights are brighter too.

2. This update also fixes the freezing issue caused by App Locker in some scenarios.

This was the first hotfix update released after Stable Nothing OS 2.5.1 that fixed some known bugs. The phone (2) still runs the November 2023 security patch and some other bugs like broken FPS meter in game mode and notification alignment issue on lock screen with lock screen widgets and media player are still present. It may also release an update soon with the January 2024 security patch and fixes for some other known bugs.
